Composition B

Composition B (рус. композиция B, сокр. «comp B») — взрывчатое вещество, представляющее собой текучую смесь гексогена (RDX) и тринитротолуола (TNT). Используется в артиллерии для снаряжения снарядов, ракет, мин, гранат и некоторых других боеприпасов[1]. Использовалось также в качестве инициирующего заряда в первых атомных бомбах США[2][3].

Стандартный состав композиции В — 59,5 % (весовых) RDX (скорость детонации 8750 м/с) и 39,4 % TNT (скорость детонации 6900 м/с) с добавлением 1 % парафина[4].

Использование

Композиция B широко использовалась в США и других западных странах и была стандартным взрывчатым веществом с начала Второй мировой войны до начала 1950-х годов. В настоящее время заменена более пожаробезопасными взрывчатками. Некоторые производители, такие как Mecar[5], до сих пор используют композицию B в своей продукции.

Термином «Composition B» называют также циклотол, в котором содержание RDX выше (до 75 %).

В массовой культуре

  • «Композиция B» упомянута в завершающей батальной сцене фильма 1998 года «Спасти рядового Райана» как взрывчатка, используемая для изготовления противотанковых гранат.
  • Используется в компьютерной игре Call of Duty 3, где игрок должен уничтожить танки без использования противотанкового оружия и артиллерии.
  • Используется как один из апгрейдов американского пехотного отделения в игре 2006 года Company of Heroes в виде противотанковых гранат.
  • Широко используется в игре Medal of Honor: Airborne для уничтожения зенитных орудий и артиллерии.
